In particular, the Aviation, Land and Maritime Transport Program is the sole provider of aviation meteorological services to the aviation industry within the Australian Flight Information Regions. This includes deepening our people's understanding of the aviation industry, fostering continuous learning, capability building, ensuring quality management systems and processes are in place and contributing to the operationalisation of product, process, and technology change.

The Aviation Meteorologist Training Lead, working closely alongside the Competency Lead and Development Lead, is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of the technical training program for Aviation Meteorologists, ensuring alignment with regulatory frameworks. It maintains a robust knowledge repository and structured training content, while staying current with evolving training practices and national requirements. The role collaborates across the Bureau and with external stakeholders to coordinate training delivery and engagement opportunities.
