Randwick City Council is an innovative and progressive Council committed to serving our vibrant community on the eastern beaches of Sydney. Our Library Services department is seeking a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Library Officer to join the team.

Purpose:

Support multicultural services within Randwick City Library, including the development, delivery and evaluation of programs and collections that reflect the needs of Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.

About the role:

  • Develop, deliver and evaluate programs that engage CALD communities
  • Maintain the Community Language and English as a Second Language (ESL) collections, including selection, acquisition and promotion.
  • Collaborate with CALD Services Librarian to Identify emerging community needs and trends
  • Represent the library in multicultural forums, networks and outreach activities

About you:

  • Diploma in Library & Information Science or equivalent
  • Experience in developing and delivering programs for CALD communities
  • Experience in working with diverse community and supporting relationships with community stakeholders
  • Experience with collection management, including maintenance, selection, deselection and promotion of resources
