IRS Perth has a vacancy for an Assistant Gasket Machine Operator. We are looking for a fit, proactive and self-motivated person to join our existing team. The position involves planning and executing various cutting jobs on a daily basis from start to finish.  It will also involve maintaining machinery, stock and the cutting warehouse environment. You will need to be able to work individually and as part of a team meeting IRS timelines and customers' expectations. Some experience/knowledge in machine operation, CAD drawing, lean principles and warehouse maintenance would be an advantage.  Training is on-the-job.


• Plan daily jobs for Cutting/Slitting - Water Cut and Atom Knife Cut Gasket profiles

• Proactively commence listed jobs

• Ensure cutting tables are always running to their maximum capacity

• Proactively prepare material for future cuts

• Ensure all cut items are clearly marked with part numbers/meterage


• Once completed, clean all jobs, packed correctly, and ready to be invoice by stores

• Ensure packaging and presentation of customers' orders to be of a high standard

• Provide excellent and comprehensive communication with team and customers

• Create, maintain, and archive customer DXF, PDF, and Water Cut Files (WCF)

• Maintain regular stock checks, track consumable parts and purchase as required

• Communicate internally with all IRS departments as required

• Support front counter sales/purchasing if required

• Ensure all cutting stock is marked with part numbers, sizes and stored correctly in an allocated area

• Ensure flexibility and proactive approach to daily work

• Ensure turnaround time on schedule is consistent, and appropriately communicate if time if unsure. 

• Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
