About the role

Brisbane City Home Care Pty Ltd is currently seeking experienced and compassionate female Support Workers to join our team on a casual basis. In this role, you will deliver personalised in-home support to individuals living with disabilities across the Logan and Ipswich regions, with a focus on promoting independence and enhancing quality of life.

We work with a diverse group of participants, offering a range of support services—from assistancewith daily self-care to Supported Independent Living (SIL) arrangements.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing personal care assistance, such as bathing, grooming and dressing
  • Helping with household tasks like cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
  • Accompanying clients to appointments and running errands
  • Engaging clients in social and recreational activities to combat isolation
  • Reporting any changes in client condition or needs to the care team
  • Ensuring a safe and comfortable environment for our clients
  • Medication administration

What we're looking for

  • A genuine passion for helping others and improving their quality of life
  • Background in working with individuals exhibiting challenging behaviours
  • Experienced in working with individuals with diverse needs, including but not limited to Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Anxiety, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder and ASD.
  • Enthusiastic about sharing enjoyable experiences with clients, which may include creative, social, and leisure activities like arts and crafts, cooking, baking, gardening, bowling, shopping, and movie trips.
  • Flexibility with shifts and availability is essential. Shifts may include morning, afternoon, sleepover, and active overnight shifts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work independently as well as as part of a team
  • A caring, patient and empathetic nature
  • A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • First Aid and CPR certification
  • NDIS Worker screening card (Yellow Card)
  • NDIS worker Orientation module certificate
