About Us

Abergeldie is a majority locally owned contractor with 30 years' industry experience in Australia and New Zealand. We design and deliver projects in the Water, Bridges, Transport, Underground, Energy and Remediation industry sectors. Projects include dams, bridges, tunnels, water and wastewater treatment process facilities, rail infrastructure, mining infrastructure, electrical substations, marine works and pipeline rehabilitation: the complex infrastructure needed to build better communities.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join our project team on the Maroochydore Wastewater Treatment Plant.

In this role, you'll be embedded with the project delivery team, supporting the safe execution of both planned upgrades and new infrastructure works as part of a 5-year capital works program delivered in collaboration with Unitywater. These works include refurbishment of existing assets like clarifiers and bioreactors, as well as new capital works such as a digester, pump stations and co-generation systems.

Reporting to the Safety Manager, you'll be responsible for providing health and safety guidance, ensuring compliance with legislation and company systems, and promoting a positive safety culture across the project.

We are open to flexible working arrangements (full time/part time) for this Sunshine Coast based role.

What You'll Bring to the Team

  • Demonstrated experience in a health and safety advisory role within construction or infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and practices.
  • Ability to provide practical safety advice to project teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to influence and engage with diverse stakeholders.
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement in safety performance.
