About the work unit / facility

The renal unit provides acute and chronic renal replacement therapy in a variety of settings, including incentre, satellite and home-based haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis. The renal unit staff also provide regular education and outreach services to community groups, other staff and family members involved in caring for people with renal failure within the Townsville Hospital and Health Service.

  • Salary range: $54.44–$58.30 p.h. (Nurse Grade 6, Band 1)

About your opportunity

Permanent part-time role, 64 hours per fortnight.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced renal nurse who is passionate about providing dialysis to consumers closer to home. This position will be based in Townsville however the suitable applicant will be expected to travel and provide dialysis in our Satellite Units including North Ward, Home Hill, Ingham, Charters Towers and Palm Island providing cover for various types of leave.

The Clinical Nurse provides direct nursing care utilising clinical skills, education and support to patients/clients and nursing staff within the Renal Unit and associated clinics to ensure the provision of best practice and quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory qualifications and proof of AHPRA registration.
  • Travel may be required, including via small plane or ferry, which may involve day and/or overnight stays.
  • C Class Drivers Licence
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
