Encaba is a Northern Territory–based electrical engineering and automation company delivering end-to-end solutions across mining, Defence, utilities and industry. We design and manufacture switchboards, build SCADA/PLC systems, and support our clients from concept to commissioning. We're growing and looking for a hands-on Accounts all-rounder to join our tight, high-performing team.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an Accounts Officer with solid experience across Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). You'll own day-to-day transaction processing, support month-end, and jump into basic admin tasks when things are quiet. If you enjoy variety and improving processes, this role is for you.

What you'll do

• Accounts Payable: match/verify invoices to POs & delivery dockets, code to jobs, obtain approvals, schedule and process supplier payments, manage supplier statements and queries.
• Accounts Receivable: raise sales invoices/progress claims, send customer statements, follow up overdue accounts professionally, manage credit applications and debtor notes.
• Reconciliations: bank recs, credit card/staff expenses, supplier & debtor reconciliations.
• Month-end support: accruals/prepayments lists, WIP checks from Simpro, assist with reports for management.
• Systems & data: keep vendor/customer records tidy, ensure jobs and costs align between Xero and Simpro.
• Administration (when time permits): reception cover, filing and document control, ordering office supplies, staff amenities stocking, ad-hoc support to the ops team.

About you

• Strong attention to detail, accurate data entry, and a proactive follow-up style.
• Comfortable juggling priorities, deadlines, and stakeholders (suppliers, project managers, clients).
• Clear, professional communication and a team-first attitude.
• Australian work rights.

Nice to have

• 2+ years in a similar AP/AR role
• Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or field-service businesses.
• Understanding of progress claims, retentions, and project/job costing.
• Basic payroll/time-sheet exposure (not essential).
• Experience with Xero and Simpro (or similar job-costing/field-service software).

Hours & salary
