About the role
The Social Worker provides support to vulnerable families with young children, delivering assessment, counselling, advocacy and evidence-based interventions within multidisciplinary teams to strengthen family resilience, safety, and child wellbeing across CaFHS and Torrens House.
Key duties of the role
- Provide a high standard of social work service to individuals, families, and groups.
- Conduct assessments and interventions utilising evidence-based models
- Carry out interventions including, counselling, behavioural change practice and family interventions
- Provide a high standard of counselling and referral to women residing at Torrens House.
- Support and advocate for families
Skills and Experience
- Appropriate Degree or equivalent qualification which gives eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
- Proven experience in working with families utilising current research and knowledge about attachment, infant mental health, and brain development
- Assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating complex interventions
- Proven experience evaluating complex cases
- Relevant social work theories including an understanding of strengths-based approach
