About the role

Canns Bus Lines' is seeking a Casual School Bus Driver to join our team. We have a number of local depots, Albury, Howlong, Corowa, Oaklands and Nathalia. We cover a large area and are always looking for relief or permanent drivers to join our team.

As a Casual School Bus Driver, you will play a crucial role in providing reliable and safe public transportation services to the local school community. This position offers the flexibility of casual work, allowing you to balance your schedule and commitments.

What you'll be doing

  • Safely operate and maneuver buses along designated routes, following traffic laws and regulations
  • Provide exceptional customer service to passengers, ensuring their comfort and safety
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to identify and report any issues
  • Maintain accurate records, such as trip logs and incident reports
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies or unexpected situations

What we're looking for

  • A valid Medium Rigid (MR), Heavy Rigid (HR) or Heavy Combination (HC) driver's licence
  • You will need a current NSW Drivers Authority - or be prepared to obtain one
  • A NSW Working with Children's Certificate is required
  • Applicants must be at least 25 years of age
  • Thorough knowledge of traffic rules, regulations, and safe driving practices
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours
  • Previous experience in a similar bus driving or public transportation role is highly desirable but not necessary
  • If necessary we can assist you in obtaining what is required
  • Australian citizenship is required for this position
