About the role

Ukubebe' is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Early Childhood Music Educator to join our team on a part-time basis, in Sydney East and Inner West.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging and developmentally appropriate music education programs to young children aged 6 months to 5 years.

Immediate start.

You will visit early childhood services in the Eastern Suburbs and Inner West, to teach music classes.

You will drive to different locations so it is a requirement that you must have a current Australian drivers licence and a car. Please do not apply if you have no licence or car.

This not an instrumental tuition role: please do not apply if you are solely an instrumental teach (piano /guitar etc) and if you don't have any early childhood music teaching experience.

What you'll be doing

  • Teach high-quality, interactive music lessons tailored to the needs and interests of early childhood students
  • Incorporate a variety of musical genres, instruments, and teaching techniques to foster a love of music in young learners
  • Collaborate with parents and caregivers to support children's musical development
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities to continuously enhance your skills

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 2 years of experience teaching music to young children in an early childhood setting
  • Strong knowledge of child development, early childhood education principles, and age-appropriate teaching strategies. Knowledge of Orff, Dalcroze and Kodaly is desired.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, parents, and colleagues
  • Demonstrated ability to create and deliver engaging, interactive, and developmentally appropriate music lessons
  • Passion for music education and a commitment to fostering a love of music in young learners
  • Qualification in music education and/or early childhood education, or a related field
  • Current working with children check and first aid certification
