We are currently seeking a qualified Electrical Mechanic to join our Construction team in Canberra, ACT.

• Permanent, full-time position

• Reporting to: Project Manager (NE/MOD)

• Location: Canberra, with travel across regional NSW as required

About You

As an Electrical Mechanic, you'll be the face of Otis, responsible for the installation of lifts, escalators, and travellators in accordance with Otis procedures and relevant industry codes.

You'll work closely with a dynamic team including Installers, Electricians, Adjusters, Trade Assistants, Field Engineers, and Construction Coordinators to deliver high-quality projects safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Install and modernize Lift equipments to the highest safety and environmental standards

• Ensure compliance with SAA Lift Code AS1735, AS3000, and Otis specifications

• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials responsibly

• Adhere to Otis Environmental Health & Safety policies and report any concerns

• Follow quality systems and industry standards

• Participate in customer handover and service inspections

• Address defects in coordination with the Project Manager

• Identify and support process improvements to enhance customer satisfaction​

What We're Looking For

• Valid Grade Electrical License and Industry White Card

• Experience in adjustment, commissioning, or fitting is highly regarded. Asbestos and Silica awareness preferred

• Proven experience in the elevator industry

• Hold a valid driver's licence

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Willingness to travel regionally and work unsupervised

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Solutions-focused, organized, and proactive

• Ability to train and share knowledge

• Skilled in task planning and time management
