We are helping a startup building a new data platform for their products in the health and care sector to hire a Senior Full Stack Engineer to build and own the core platform that translates complex behavioural data and AI analysis into actionable insights for frontline staff.

About the role

This is a foundational, 0-to-1 role that directly shapes the technology and product strategy. As the Senior Full Stack Engineer, you will own the product serving stack from day one. You are the critical link between the Data Science team's models and the end-user's ability to drive better outcomes. This is a hands-on architectural role where you will make technical decisions on product delivery, APIs, and integration strategy. You will operate with significant autonomy and measure success entirely by real-world adoption and customer outcomes. You will receive MLOps and CloudOps support from other specialised engineers, freeing you to focus on building maximum product value.

The team will rely on you to:

  • Transform models and analyses into interfaces, APIs, and integrations care managers use daily.
  • Cover the full product delivery spectrum: frontend for care staff, backend services, and infrastructure concerns for security and scale. Whatever blocks value, you unblock.
  • Build integrations with existing systems, not isolated dashboards, to ensure practical utility.
  • Work directly with customers and care homes to understand workflows and ship what matters.
  • Ship MVPs that can evolve without rewrites; make smart trade-offs under ambiguity while documenting technical debt.
  • Partner closely to shape deliverables and feed back customer needs, significantly shaping product direction alongside the Chief Product Officer, Chief Commercial Officer, and Head of Machine Learning.

Ideally you have:

  • 5+ years of experience building customer-facing products, having seen multiple product lifecycles and helped define value in 0-to-1 environments.
  • Strong full stack competence spanning frontend, backend services, infrastructure decisions, and databases.
  • Strong foundational knowledge in clean architecture, testing, security, and system maintainability.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently; you identify what needs building, make technical decisions, and execute without waiting for direction.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent shipping experience.
  • An openness to working on-site 5 days a week, as the rest of the team are all on-site each day.

Bonus points if you also have:

  • Experience in healthcare or privacy-sensitive domains.
  • Direct experience productionising ML and data science outputs for real-time applications.
