The RoleThis is a unique opportunity to work on critical maritime projects, contributing to the maintenance and sustainment of both commercial and Royal Australian Navy vessels. The role involves a diverse range of fabrication, welding, and repair tasks in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Your role will involve the following, but not limited to;

  • Welding and Boiler fabrication
  • Read and interpret shop drawings
  • GMAW, GTAW and SMAW welding process
  • Weld all types of metal, ferrous and nonferrous
  • Working in confined spaces and on elevated work platform equipment

Essential Experience & Qualifications

You will be required to pass an Australian Federal Police Check and be eligible for a Defence Security Clearance.

To be successful for the role you will have:

  • Trade certificate in Fabrication / Engineering
  • Working at Heights ticket
  • Induction for Construction Work / White Card
  • Enter and Work Confined Spaces ticket

Desirable Experience and licenses

  • Previous experience working on maritime vessels
  • MIG & TIG welding experience
  • Heavy Engineering experience
  • Existing Baseline or NV1 security clearance
