About You

  • This role would generally suit an engineer with
    minimum of 4+
    years
    ' fire engineering experience.

To be successful in the role, the ideal candidate is expected to have the following skills:

  • Experience in the local construction industry specific to fire safety is required.
  • Australian-recognised degree qualification in Mechanical or Fire engineering. (Other forms of engineering qualification may also be considered.)
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication and report writing skills.
  • Have good decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Have the ability to utilise software packages such as Fire Dynamics Simulator (FDS), Pathfinder, or similar.
  • Be able to work independently to complete assigned tasks under minimal supervision.
  • Have prior knowledge in relevant legislative and compliance requirements.

They key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of Performance Based Design Briefs (PBDB) and Fire Engineering Reports (FER).
  • Application of Australian Standards, the National Construction Code (NCC) and other relevant fire safety engineering documentation (e.g. SFPE, AFEG, NFPA, Eurocode, etc), as required.
  • Opportunities to work alongside Fire Safety Leaders and take on further responsibilities with client interface, coordination with project stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
  • Attendance at site inspections and project meetings, review of contractor submissions, preparation of meeting minutes and final inspection letter.
  • Attendance at industry events as a Lucid representative.
  • A commitment to accuracy, high standards of written and verbal communication, punctuality, organisation, and ongoing technical development to become a well-rounded Fire Engineer in a consulting environment.
