Role Purpose
- To lead the safe, secure and efficient operation of the Distribution Centres (DCs) in ANZ through recruitment, development and motivation of staff to continually improve processes and performance that support the achievement of strategic objectives in respect of service, quality and cost.
- Working closely and aligned with the regional and global inventory team. Accountable for delivering an effective and efficient implementation of a specific inventory and S&OP strategy within the markets.
What you will be doing in this role
- Adopt a continuous improvement approach to optimise service and quality while minimising cost.
- Provide clear leadership developing a high performing and highly engaged team.
- Support the development of the existing facility to maximise capacity.
- Ensure compliance with all legislative and statutory requirements.
- Delivery of a strong health and safety culture within DC.
- Drive high performance of DC.
- Provide clear leadership that engages DC employees.
- Delivery of efficient and robust processes and procedures within DC.
- Provide leadership and direction in Leadership Teams and Local Market Leadership Team.
- Manage local carriers and negotiations as agreed with Global Freight Manager.
- Manage Facilities while involving Global Facilities Function.
- Work across DC network to provide lowest cost and highest practical customer service levels.
- Maintain at all times a safe working environment, minimising risks and delivering high standards of housekeeping, developing a strong Health and Safety culture.
- DC leadership team are developed to meet the business plans.
- The appropriate resources and skills are available at the DC to meet the current and future business need.
- Management of the 3rd party Logistics contract ensuring contract compliance and maintaining of service levels.
- Maintain strong quality control processes and report non-compliance from internal and external sources.
- Develop and deliver market stock strategy, manage inventory health and support functional decision making to secure delivery of optimal ROI.
- Collaborate with regional and global product and supplier management and accelerate the transition of locally sourced inventory in the markets.
- Lead implementation, adherence and continuous improvement of the execution of S&OP process.
- Coordinate markets' indirect procurement and assign cost saving targets.
- Work with warehouse team seamlessly in driving the development and implementation of inventory management processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure there is an EH&S committee in place and direct people to contribute, drive EH&S initiatives and Safety Improvement Plan in ANZ, implement local / group wide requirements, having Health and Safety as a regular agenda item on local leadership team meetings.
- Arrange for effective consultation and participation of employees, develop and promote culture of health & safety to support outcomes. Take overall responsibility and accountability for prevention of accidents and ill health. Foster a culture of openness regarding the reporting of unsafe conditions and / or behaviours.
- Ensure OHS MS (Occupational Health & Safety Management System) is integrated into business processes and achieves intended outcome.
- Responsible for ensuring the individual requirements set out in the ISO9001 Quality Management standards are maintained within the market.

About you
Essential Skills & Experience
- Strong Health and Safety knowledge, experience and awareness.
- Senior management level experience in managing time critical, high volume Distribution Centres.
- Strong change management skills, both processes and employee leadership.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Ability to establish both strategic and tactical plans, providing leadership to respond to business, market, legislative or environmental developments.
- Leadership skills to rectify any operational non-conformances.
- Ability to interpret business / supply chain forecasts and establish cost effective processes in DC.
- Establish controls and reporting to ensure high performance with ability to provide leadership and direction.
- Formulation of full year budgets for labours, overheads and capital for DC.
- Negotiate with carriers in delivery of freight strategy as agreed with Global Freight Manager.
- Negotiate with and influence employee representative bodies as appropriate.
- Ability to communicate effectively both formally and informally with all levels.
- Ability to develop positive industrial and employee relations.
- General awareness of good business practices and stakeholder management techniques.
- Experience of working in a customer led service delivery organisation.
- Will have led large teams of people in a time critical environment.
- Experience in the use and implementation of Warehouse Management Systems.
- Demonstrable understanding of change management and working in a continuous improvement environment.
- Knowledge and experience of the local market parcel carrier sector.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships across business areas and all levels.
- Strong influencing skills to persuade, motivate and influence team members and management across multiple business areas.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of our external marketplace (customers, competitors & suppliers / carriers).
- Experience of working within the Electronics and / or Maintenance distribution industries as appropriate.
- Experience of working in a global business.
- Experience of working with SAP.
