The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a lawyer to join our highly successful Insurance Division on a full-time basis. Based in Melbourne, the successful candidate will enjoy working on interesting and high value matters for premium insurer clients in a team that is recognised within the industry for delivering high quality advice and outstanding service to clients across a diverse range of insurance lines, including:
- Public liability - personal injury, property damage and product liability;
- Professional Indemnity and D&O; and
- Management Liability.
The key purpose in this role will be to act in coverage and defence roles in general insurance claims for a wide network of clients. You will be required to have a demonstrated and sound knowledge of the industry, with the ability to run matters through to completion. In the role you will have the opportunity to lead and mentor paralegals, graduates and junior lawyers.

Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role you will have the following:
- A Bachelor of Laws or equivalent and a current Victoria practising certificate;
- Minimum 3 years' post admission experience in general insurance matters, including casualty and/or financial lines claims;
- Confidence to deal directly with clients;
- Ability to communicate effectively with experts in multiple fields;
- High degree of initiative, dedication and organisation ability with a strong client and commercial focus;
- Ability to manage a busy workload and work to tight deadlines;
- A commercial approach and ability to articulate and negotiate effectively; and
- A strong, plain language communication style.
