Early Childhood Co-Educator

Kincoppal-Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart, founded in 1882, is a leading Catholic Independent Day and Boarding School located in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.  The college is co-educational ELC-6, and girls only 7-12.

At present, we are inviting applications for a Permanent Full-Time Early Childhood Co-Educator. Join the fantastic team of staff based at our Early Learning Centre for Excellence, situated amongst the bush and the beach and with stunning views over Sydney Harbour.

Duties:

Welcoming and nurturing the development of the youngest members of our School community through hands-on exploration and encouragement of individual interests, key responsibilities of the role include:

• Providing a high standard of support and care to children
• Assisting with project-based learning activities
• Helping to maintain relevant child records and documentation
• Working with the wider ELC team to achieve excellence according to the National Quality Standards and other mandated frameworks
• Maintaining effective relationships with parents
• Operating according to Reggio Emilia and Forest Schools philosophies

The ideal candidate:

• Prepared to commit to the goals of a Sacred Heart education, and be an active and visible member of our wider School community
• Must have a Diploma or Cert III in Child Care
• Prior experience working with 2 - 5 year old
• Candidates with 3 years+ of relevant experience will be highly regarded
• In possession of a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC)
• Knowledge and awareness of Nature Pedagogy principles
• Experience working with the assessment and rating system
• Food Handling Certificate
• Personable and dynamic with a flair for effective communication at all levels
• Prepared to commit to fostering the dignity, self-esteem, and integrity of the young people in our care and providing them with a safe, supportive, and enriching environment to develop spiritually, physically, intellectually, emotionally, and socially.
