We now have an exciting opportunity available for a Senior Control Systems & SCADA Power Engineer - On-Grid to join us in our Power Engineering team in Brisbane, QLD on a Permanent Full Time Contract.
Reporting to the Power Operations Engineering Manager - On-Grid, you will play a key role in Critical role providing Control Systems and SCADA Engineering capability to support APA's on-grid assets such as Renewable & HVDC within the remit of the APA Operations Power Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Control Systems and SCADA issue management for On-Grid connected assets.
- Provide operational support for On-Grid connected DCS, PLC, and RTU equipment.
- Manage device configuration using APA's approved code management tool.
- Support alarm management and rationalisation for on-site SCADA systems and within APA's Integrated Operations Centre (IOC).
- Collaborate with HV Engineers and provide technical support within the team.
- Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving efforts to maximise asset reliability and availability.
- Administer engineering business-as-usual (BAU) changes, including obsolescence management and equipment upgrades to extend asset life.
Your background
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering with eligibility for corporate membership of Engineers Australia, or equivalent experience.
- Extensive relevant Control Systems and SCADA experience, ideally within the Power Transmission or Generation sectors.
- Strong knowledge of applicable Australian and International codes and statutory requirements.
- Proven track record in driving business improvements related to maintenance, reliability, and asset inspection.
- Experience in developing and managing project scopes.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills.
- Competence in risk assessment, management, and incident investigation including reporting and implementing recommendations.
- Willingness to spend the necessary time on site.
