Senior Management Accountant
who is passionate about supporting our incredible team.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a critical role in the management of our venue's financial operations. This is an exciting opportunity to be a part of a growing company and develop your skills within a fast-paced environment.

Our journey began with our multi award-winning Felons Brewery and today, Howard Smith Wharves boasts 13 restaurants, cafes, bars, event spaces and a hotel - a vibrant playground for lovers of the good life. We now continue to thrive and grow through iconic businesses including Story Bridge Adventure Climb and Manly Wharf Precinct in Sydney.

Key Responsibilities will include:

  • Month end reporting including variance analysis and commentaries
  • Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Managing a small team
  • P&L reporting and analysis
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets/forecasts and ongoing budget monitoring
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to monitor financial performance and provide insights
  • Identify and implement efficient finance processes
  • Fixed asset management
  • Preparation and lodgement of BAS, FBT & payroll tax
  • Play an active role in various process improvement projects
  • Adhoc support for Financial Controller and CFO as required

What we're looking for:

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, with at least 5 years' experience in a commercial environment
  • Previous experience with cloud-based accounting systems (MYOB Acumatica advantageous)
  • Solid financial acumen and a knack for commercial accounting
  • Strong analytical, technical and excel skills, with a "can do" attitude
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation
  • Previous experience managing junior accounting staff
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work autonomously in a fast paced, dynamic environment
