As the School Technical Officer at Drayton State School, you will provide advice and assistance to maximise the potential of ICT operations within the school.
Support the school community with technical advice, instruction, and assistance with electronic equipment.
Assist in training staff on the effective application of ICT tools and provide efficient support to resolve issues with school computing facilities.
*This is a progressional position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the lower classification with eligibility for progression to the next, once specific criteria have been met or demonstrated. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of both classification ranges.

About The Role
As the School Technical Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the school's ICT operations to enhance the learning experience for students and staff.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Providing advice and assistance to maximise the potential of ICT operations, including acquisition, installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Supporting the school community with technical advice, instruction, and assistance with electronic equipment.
- Assisting in the provision of training to staff on the effective use of ICT tools to deliver educational services.
- Resolving technical issues with school computing facilities while maintaining a high level of customer focus.
- Performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs on ICT facilities and associated equipment.
This role would suit a proactive and technically skilled individual who enjoys working in a collaborative school environment.
About You
The following traits would be beneficial:
- Strong technical knowledge of server hardware, networking peripherals, and security protocols.
- Good understanding of PC systems, Apple iPads, and printer support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with various stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a client-focused approach.
- Experience using remote support tools to manage servers and workstations.
Mandatory Requirements
To be successful in this role, you'll need to meet the following requirements:
- Hold a diploma qualification relevant to the tasks outlined, from a recognised tertiary institution, or a qualification approved by the Director-General, Department of Education.
- Either already have or be able to obtain the DoE Orange Card School Administrator certification, which allows access to the school network.
- Have a current Working with Children Check (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services, as required under the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.
