About the Role

We're seeking an experienced, energetic and hands-on Café All-Rounder & Leader who can support day-to-day café operations while providing leadership to the team. This is a varied, fast-paced role suited to someone who enjoys both customer service and light kitchen work, thrives in a team environment, and loves delivering an outstanding café experience.


Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

  • Deliver friendly, efficient, and personalised service to all customers
  • Take orders, handle transactions (POS, cash, EFTPOS), and ensure accuracy
  • Provide menu recommendations and handle customer feedback or complaints professionally

Food Preparation & Service

  • Perform light cooking duties, ensuring food meets our quality standards
  • Plate and present dishes beautifully and package takeaway orders correctly
  • Maintain consistency and efficiency during busy service periods

Team Leadership & Communication

  • Lead and support junior team members, assisting with training and supervision
  • Communicate effectively with the Kitchen Supervisor and management team
  • Contribute to team meetings and share ideas for continuous improvement

Cleaning, Safety & Compliance

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness across all areas
  • Follow food safety and handling procedures in line with health regulations
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed for both staff and customers

Stock & Operations

  • Monitor and report stock levels, assist with ordering and inventory management
  • Maintain security of stock and café assets
  • Be flexible in taking on varied tasks to support smooth daily operations

You'll bring:

  • Experience in hospitality, café, or food service (leadership experience highly regarded)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
  • Basic cooking knowledge or willingness to learn
  • Strong attention to cleanliness, detail, and food safety
