Tax Accountant – Footscray & Williams Landing, VIC

We are a well-established and trusted accounting firm with offices in Footscray and Williams Landing. As our firm continues to grow, we're looking for an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented
Tax Accountant
to join our professional team.

About the Role

You will be responsible for end-to-end accounting functions and supporting our clients across a range of industries. Key responsibilities include:

  • Small Business Restructuring
  • Preparing ITR, CTR, BAS, SMSF, FBT returns for review
  • Division 7A compliance and inter-company reconciliations
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting
  • Liaising with the ATO, ASIC, and other stakeholders
  • Month-end reporting up to trial balance
  • Journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Managing the Fixed Asset Register
  • Assisting managers with client advisory work and ad-hoc accounting tasks

About You

  • Must have living and working rights in Australia.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar accounting role
  • Degree in Accounting (essential)
  • Solid understanding of Australian Accounting Standards
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Proficient in HandiSoft, MYOB, Reckon, Xero, Excel, and Word
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and in a team
  • Have or interest in pursuing CPA / CA qualification
  • Completion of a taxation course (e.g. H&R Block / ITP) – advantageous
