McLean Farms is a diversified family-owned agri-business based in Pittsworth, 30 minutes Southwest of Toowoomba. Specialising in livestock and food production, the business is involved with a broad range of agricultural enterprises such as grain, compost and feed mill operations.

About the role

This role involves helping to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our layer hens, ensuring they remain healthy and productive.

We're looking for Shed Hands who are reliable, motivated, and enjoy working as part of a supportive team.

Daily duties will include but not be limited to:

• Conducting feed, water and light checks, including general maintenance to equipment where necessary
• Conducting environmental checks to ensure birds are comfortable
• Conducting inspections on bird welfare, egg systems, and egg belts for ease of flow
• General cleaning and servicing of sheds and equipment as required
• Other duties as required

About you:

• Willingness to strictly adhere to the required animal welfare guidelines and regulations
• Previous experience in the poultry industry is not essential, but would be highly regarded
• Current valid drivers' licence
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
• Strong inter-personal skills, able to work co-operatively with internal and external contacts
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Must be reliable, punctual and motivated
• Good attention to detail

You may be required to work reasonable overtime to meet operational demands. You must be able to work weekends and public holidays as per a rotating roster.
