**About the role**

This role involves helping to maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our layer hens, ensuring they remain healthy and productive.

We’re looking for Shed Hands who are reliable, motivated, and enjoy working as part of a supportive team.

**Daily duties will include but not be limited to**:

- Conducting feed, water and light checks, including general maintenance to equipment where necessary
- Conducting environmental checks to ensure birds are comfortable
- Conducting inspections on bird welfare, egg systems, and egg belts for ease of flow
- General cleaning and servicing of sheds and equipment as required
- Other duties as required

**About you**:

- Willingness to strictly adhere to the required animal welfare guidelines and regulations
- Previous experience in the poultry industry is not essential, but would be highly regarded
- Current valid drivers’ licence
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual tasks
- Strong inter-personal skills, able to work co-operatively with internal and external contacts
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must be reliable, punctual and motivated
- Good attention to detail

You may be required to work reasonable overtime to meet operational demands. You must be able to work weekends and public holidays as per a rotating roster.
