Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Potts Point, NSW. The Accountant will oversee and manage financial operations, including preparing and analyzing financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting strategic financial planning. Daily tasks will involve preparing financial reports, budgeting, maintaining accurate financial records, and collaborating with other teams to improve financial processes. The Accountant will also assist in audits and liaise with external financial institutions as needed.

Responsabilities

  • Preparing and analysing financial statements, monthly management reports, and maintaining up-to-date financial records.
  • Managing budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow processes to ensure accurate financial planning and strong business performance.
  • Monitoring financial performance and providing data-driven insights and recommendations to management.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal control procedures, and taxation requirements.
  • Conducting account reconciliations and variance analysis to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Managing accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
  • Developing and maintaining accounting systems and procedures to improve workflow efficiency and reporting accuracy.
  • Liaising with external stakeholders, including auditors and service providers, to ensure transparent and compliant financial management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a dynamic or fast-paced environment.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, or similar) and Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Experience with reconciliations, month-end processes, and preparing management reports.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and provide insights.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive, solutions-focused attitude.
