OMICRON is a leading manufacturer of primary and secondary test equipment for power systems. Our products are used in more than 140 countries by electrical power plants, companies operating high-voltage transmission lines, switchgear, medium-voltage distribution networks and industrial plants.

OMICRON prides itself on excellent customer support and our repair and calibration services are an important extension of that commitment. Due to our continued growth in the Australian market and expansion of our testing facility, we are now offering an opportunity for an experienced Repair and Calibration Technician to join our team.

Tasks
  • You will perform diagnostics, repairs, calibrations, and upgrades on OMICRON test equipment according to internal procedures and quality standards
  • You will maintain accurate records of repairs, replacements, and calibrations in accordance with ISO 9001 accreditation requirements and internal compliance
  • You will sign and release test reports and certificates
  • You will collaborate with quality assurance, service and engineering teams (locally and internationally) to ensure customer satisfaction
  • You will participate in continuous training programs to keep up with product developments and testing technologies
  • You ensure that the service area is organized, clean, and meets ESD safety requirements
  • You will support device in and outbound logistics
  • You will manage spare parts inventory
  • You will communicate with customers regularly (via phone and email)
Profile
  • You have completed tertiary education (Diploma or higher) in an electrical or electronics field
  • You have minimum 2 years of experience in service, repair (incl. component level), or calibration of electronic or electrical equipment (preferably in a high-precision or test equipment environment)
  • You bring a good understanding of analog/digital electronics, test methodologies, and measurement principles
  • You are proficient with diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, precision counters and signal generators
  • You enjoy working independently and in a team-oriented environment
  • You are willing and able to travel internationally for training and occasional support activities
  • You are reliable, with great attention to detail and a high level of self-initiative.
  • Communication and organisational skills are among your strengths.
