About the Role
The Dredging Supervisor is essential in ensuring our dredging operations are conducted efficiently, safely and in compliance with environmental regulations and project specifications. This position entails a blend of technical marine and dredging expertise, leadership skills, and a keen understanding of environmental regulations.
This role will primarily be site-based and see you taking ownership of a range of dredging projects, both locally and in regional Western Australia, typically on a 2:1 roster. In the event you are not assigned to a Project, you will work from our Henderson yard.
Key Accountabilities
- Planning, implementation and supervision of all daily operations on site.
- Provide direction and support to dredge operators and related personnel ensuring projects adhere to planned scheduled and budget.
- Planning and managing dredging schedules, monitoring the performance of equipment and troubleshooting any operational issues that arise.
- Liaising closely with management, project engineers and clients as required.
- Managing site safety using a risk managing approach, ensuring risk management tools are implemented on site and activities are undertaken in accordance with quality, WHS and environmental obligations.
- Managing and development of crews including rostering and on-site training.
- Subcontractor management as required.
- Provision of site inductions for employees, contractors and visitors.
- Completion of site documentation and reporting.
- Conducting site workgroup meetings including SWMS, pre-start and toolbox meetings.
Qualifications & Attributes

- Strong leadership qualities and supervisory experience with the ability to lead by example fostering an environment that promotes operational excellence, enhances productivity and upholds the highest standards of environmental stewardship.
- Adaptable to environmental, client and project demands.
- Adept in Conflict resolution.
- Dredging knowledge and experience with cutter suction dredges highly regarded.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Coxswain qualification.
- Master 5 and MED 3 + highly regarded.
- Sound level of computer literacy, including MS software suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Confident and competent in developing JHAs / SWMS.
