About the Role:
Reporting to the Superintendent – Asset Planning & Strategy, you'll be responsible for delivering long-term maintenance plans, shutdown forecasts, budgets, and overall asset class planning. In this role, you'll use your strong collaboration skills to partner with a range of internal and external stakeholders including site maintenance departments, finance and risk advisors, and asset management service providers. Your goal will be to develop and implement plans that balance cost efficiency and risk management, all while aligning with Whitehaven's asset strategy.
This Brisbane based role offers the opportunity to play a critical part in shaping the long-term sustainability and reliability of our field equipment assets, helping drive safety and operational performance.
What You Will Do:
- Lead the development and management of long-term asset budget forecasts that balance risk optimisation with strategic business objectives, ensuring sustainable asset performance.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, reliability, and site teams to align zero-based long-term maintenance plans with whole-of-life cost models and operational shutdown calendars.
- Drive efficiency and standardisation across Asset Class Planning by integrating long-term strategies into quarterly short-term and shutdown plans, enabling seamless operational execution.
- Analyse maintenance execution against planned activities to identify improvement opportunities, working alongside asset data, engineering, and finance teams to support continuous change management.
- Facilitate the creation and documentation of detailed work instructions and HSE risk management protocols in SAP, while contributing to budget forecasting, component forecasting, and maintenance cost performance reporting.
What You Will Bring:
- Proven technical expertise, supported by trade qualifications or significant mining industry experience, enabling accurate estimation of resources, costs, materials, and timeframes for required work.
- Strong SAP proficiency, with a track record of leveraging the system to support planning, scheduling, and administrative efficiency.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation and lead routine planning meetings.
- Highly organised and adaptable, capable of managing multiple priorities, navigating tight deadlines, and working effectively within structured systems and processes.
- Detail-oriented and quality-driven, with experience interpreting technical documentation and liaising with contractors and vendors to deliver high-standard, customer-focused results.
