Roper Gulf Regional Council is a local government authority serving the Roper Gulf Region in the Northern Territory. Covering an expansive area of 201,000 square kilometers, the council provides essential services to 13 communities across the region, including both urban and remote Aboriginal communities. The Council is committed to improving the quality of life for its residents through sustainable and culturally sensitive services, ensuring the delivery of community programs, infrastructure maintenance, and local governance.

In this position, you will oversee the planning, implementation, and monitoring of various service delivery programs, ensuring that they meet both operational and community goals. You will be tasked with managing budgets, staff performance, and maintaining a high standard of service delivery. A key part of your role will be engaging with the local communities to understand their needs and ensuring that all services are delivered in a culturally appropriate and respectful manner.

To be considered for this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Local Government, Rural Management, or a related field (minimum Diploma level or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 5 years of management experience, with at least 2 years in remote or Indigenous communities.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to manage teams in cross-cultural environments.
  • A deep understanding of the issues affecting Indigenous communities, with high levels of cultural awareness and competence.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, budget oversight, and service delivery

Remuneration Package Includes:

  • Competitive salary range of $114,123.79 to $125,614.36 per annum
