About the role
Western Health is now one of the largest centres for Women's Health in Victoria.
We are looking for a Certified Obstetric & Gynaecological Ultrasound Specialist (COGU) or a Diploma of Diagnostic Ultrasound (DDU) to join the Women's & Children's Division at Western Health, based the Joan Kirner Women's & Children's Hospital. This position would suit a suitably qualified Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with FRANZCOG who is a subspecialist in Ultrasound COGU or DDU.
Key responsibilities:
Performing and supervising registrar/obstetric fellows to perform Specialist Ultrasounds in Gynaecology mainly involving Complex Gynaecology cases including Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis and malignancies
Performing and supervising Obstetrics & Gynaecology trainees and sonographers to perform Specialist Ultrasounds in the Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS)
- Performing Specialist Ultrasounds and procedures within the Maternal Fetal Medicine Unit
- We are committed to being the best training centre for Fellowship of The Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and expect all consultants to have a keen interest in training and supporting junior medical staff.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise within a multi-disciplinary team for complex clinical cases where needed.

About you:
- Must hold or be eligible for registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists
- Completion of the RANZCOG Certificate in Obstetric and Gynaecological Utrasound (COGU) or equivalent
- Comprehensive clinical skills and experience in provision of Obstetric and Gynaecological Ultrasound care
- Knowledge of women's health issues in relation to the target population of Joan Kirner
