Position Overview:

You will play a crucial role in supporting an NDIS participant with complex behavioural needs. Your primary responsibility will be to provide tailored, high-quality care and support that enhances the participant's quality of life while ensuring their safety and well-being. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to implement behaviour support plans and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct support to the participant, including personal care, daily living activities, and community engagement.
  • Implement and follow individualised behaviour support plans and strategies.
  • Monitor and document the participant's progress, behaviours, and any incidents.
  • Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, therapists, and family members to ensure a holistic approach to support.
  • Maintain a safe and positive environment for the participant.
  • Assist with developing and promoting the participant's independence and life skills.
  • Respond effectively to high-intensity behaviours and crises, following established protocols.
  • Participate in regular training and professional development to stay updated on best practices in behaviour support.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certificate III or IV in Disability, Community Services, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working with individuals with high behaviour support needs.
  • Training in crisis intervention and positive behaviour support.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex and challenging behaviours.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement behaviour support plans and strategies.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to remain calm under pressure.
  • Understanding of NDIS frameworks and standards.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Job Types: Subcontract, Casual

Pay: $40.00 – $61.00 per hour
