About the Role
As our Accountant, you will manage and deliver the full spectrum of accounting and financial reporting functions for our Melbourne operations. This role requires strong technical expertise and attention to detail to ensure accuracy, compliance, and sound financial management.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements by Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and statutory requirements specific to the aged care sector.
Develop, implement, and monitor budgets and forecasts, analyse financial performance, and prepare variance reports.
Ensure compliance with taxation, funding, and statutory obligations, including preparation and lodgement of BAS, tax returns, and other regulatory requirements.
Coordinate the annual audit process, liaise with external auditors, prepare all necessary documentation and maintain a strong internal.
Provide financial analysis and advice to management to support business planning and decision-making.
Maintain and improve the computer-based accounting system, identifying and implementing processes to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the finance function.
Provide high-level oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cash flow management to ensure effective financial control.
Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of financial governance.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree or above, majoring in Accounting or related subjects.
In-depth knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, tax laws and compliance requirements.
Demonstrated experience in financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and economic modelling.
High proficiency in accounting software and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
Proficiency in Mandarin and English is preferred to support effective communication within multicultural communities.
