Job Description
About the Role
At SEEK, our Senior Data Scientists play a key role in shaping how millions of people discover meaningful work. As a Senior Data Scientist in the Personalisation team, you'll lead the design and delivery of end-to-end AI solutions—from defining problems and running experiments to building models and deploying them at scale.
You'll work on some of SEEK's most impactful challenges, including developing deep candidate representations, personalising user experiences, and powering adaptive content across our platforms. You'll collaborate closely with AI Engineers, Product Managers, Designers, and other Data Scientists, while also mentoring and supporting less experienced team members.
This role is perfect for someone who thrives in autonomy, enjoys solving ambiguous problems, and is passionate about creating high-impact, technically excellent solutions. If you're excited about driving innovation and influencing the direction of AI at SEEK, we'd love to hear from you.
The Team
The Personalisation team sits within SEEK's Artificial Intelligence & Analytics (AIPS) group and plays a critical role in shaping how candidates interact with our products. We help users find the right opportunities faster by tailoring their experiences using behavioural signals, advanced machine learning, and deep user insights.
As part of a cross-functional, specialised team, we design and deploy models that power intelligent content systems and personalisation engines. We work in quarterly delivery cycles where we explore, prototype, and release solutions that enhance the job discovery experience for millions.
What You'll Do
In this role, you'll lead end-to-end personalisation initiatives—working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Data Scientists to design, build, and deploy scalable machine learning solutions. You'll take ownership of the technical direction, shaping the roadmap and driving experimentation to solve complex user experience challenges.
You'll develop and refine ML models, run rigorous evaluations including A/B tests, and ensure performance, fairness, and reliability in production. You'll also uncover data-driven insights that influence product strategy, while providing mentorship, technical guidance, and thought leadership across the team.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or applied AI roles
Proven ability to lead the development and deployment of production-grade ML models
Strong background in machine learning, statistics, and data analysis
A Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data science libraries such as Pandas, Scikit-learn, TensorFlow or PyTorch
Hands-on experience with deep learning, ranking algorithms, or personalisation frameworks
Deep experience with A/B testing, experimental design, and model evaluation techniques
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence technical and non-technical stakeholders
Additional Information
Permanent Perks

- Annual Performance Bonus Plan
- Support of flexible working, including a mix of office and work from home days depending on your role.
- Paid and unpaid leave benefits including Personal Flexi Days and Volunteer Days, as well as the opportunity to purchase additional leave

At SEEK, we are passionate about fostering a culture of inclusion and wellbeing that embraces and values the diversity of our people. We are a purpose driven business that works with heart.
