About the CompanyA well-established and growing residential construction company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Estimator to join their high-performing team. Known for delivering high-quality homes and innovative designs, the company prides itself on a collaborative culture, streamlined systems, and a commitment to continuous improvement.This role offers the opportunity to be a key contributor in the pre-construction and construction phases of exciting residential projects while working with a supportive and forward-thinking team.Role OverviewThe Senior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate budgets, quantity take-offs, and procurement documentation to support the successful delivery of residential building projects. Working closely with project managers, site supervisors, and suppliers, the role ensures cost control, buildability, and compliance across all project stages.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed and accurate production budgets using current supplier pricing and quotesProvide monthly POC (percentage of completion) reports to the accountant in line with company proceduresConduct precise quantity take-offs from architectural and engineering drawings (accuracy >95%)Collaborate with site supervisors twice weekly to proactively resolve buildability challenges and minimise variations (maintaining purchase order overruns under 3%)Identify construction risks, assess design functionality, and recommend cost-effective alternatives within 5 business days of issue identificationMaintain and update the Databuild product catalogue, including pricing, specifications, and production descriptionsReview subcontractor quotes against scope and plans to ensure alignment with budgets and specificationsGenerate and issue timely and accurate purchase orders based on BOQsProcess supplier invoices in line with internal procedures and project timelinesContinuously improve BOQ templates based on site feedback, product changes, and cost-saving opportunitiesEnsure compliance with all relevant building codes, standards, and regulations, including NCC, acoustic, bushfire, and plumbing requirementsUse Databuild, Bluebeam, and On Site Companion to manage all estimating tasks, timelines, and documentationRequired Skills & ExperienceMinimum of 5 years' experience in a Senior Estimator role within residential constructionQualification in Building & Construction and/or Project ManagementProven experience with Databuild and Bluebeam (essential)Strong understanding of the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, and safety complianceHigh-level attention to detail and accuracy in estimating and documentationStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to communicate effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholdersSelf-motivated, organised, and able to manage multiple deadlinesWhat's On OfferSalary: $100,000 - $120,000 + Super (commensurate with experience)Career Development: Ongoing professional development and training opportunitiesWork-Life Balance: Supportive management and flexible working arrangementsModern Tools: Access to industry-leading software and systemsTeam Culture: Collaborative and experienced team with a strong project pipelineImpact: Be a key voice in improving estimating processes, systems, and project outcomes
