General Manager Commercial Operations

Royal Life Saving SA is a not-for-profit leader in drowning prevention, water safety education, and inclusive aquatic programs. We deliver accredited training, community outreach, and sector partnerships that empower South Australians to enjoy water safely.

Royal Life Saving South Australia is seeking a visionary and commercially astute General Manager Commercial Operations to drive strategic growth across our Registered Training Organisation (RTO), Swim School, and broader business development portfolio.

About You

·       Proven experience in Senior Leadership, preferably within education, health, or community sectors.

·       Strong understanding of RTO governance, compliance, and training markets.

·       Experience managing community-facing programs.

·       Exceptional stakeholder engagement and business development skills.

·       Financial acumen and a track record of driving sustainable growth.

·       A passion for community impact, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Develop and implement commercial strategies that expand our reach and financial sustainability.

·       Ensure RTO compliance with ASQA standards and lead continuous improvement in training delivery.

·       Strengthen Swim School operations, staffing, and customer experience.

·       Build strategic partnerships with councils, schools, community organisations, and health providers.

·       Lead market analysis, pricing strategies, and product development.

·       Report to the CEO and contribute to board-level planning and governance.

Skills & Qualifications:

·       Tertiary qualifications in Business, Education, Management, or a related field desirable

·       Working With Children Check

·       Proven experience in RTO leadership, community, commercial operations, or aquatic program management

·       Strong financial governance, compliance & reporting skills.

·       Analytical mindset with a proactive approach clear & confident communication.
