The Role

Own claims end-to-end and deliver clean, defensible work.

  • Scope core vs supporting - Turn messy projects into clear, compliant activities.
  • Draft like a lawyer - Tight write-ups aligned to R&DTI legislation and guidance.
  • Build the numbers - Budgets, eligible cost methodologies, apportionments, associate payments.
  • Substantiate properly - Evidence plans, contemporaneous records, audit-ready files.
  • Manage clients - Set expectations, keep momentum, hit deadlines.

Delivery expectations - 2–4 claims/month; 10-15 business-day turnaround from brief to final draft.

Industries - ~70% software, ~20% manufacturing; balance across tech-adjacent sectors.

Tools - Dropbox, Excel, Gmail; tidy file hygiene (naming, versioning, checklists).

You
  • R&DTI experience (2+ years) — You've scoped and drafted real claims end-to-end.
  • Clear communicator — You reduce complex tech to one tight paragraph.
  • Responsive - You are responsive and work a head of the client
  • Commercial — You see risks, wins and trade-offs, not just words on a page.
  • Independent — You plan, deliver and chase evidence without hand-holding.
  • Detail-minded — Typos, gaps and loose ends don't make it past you.

Nice to have — Exposure to AusIndustry/ATO reviews; multi-entity groups; software + manufacturing mix.
