We're seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to take the reins of this incredible beachfront accommodation venue. More than just a role – this is your chance to live the coastal dream, lead an amazing team, and deliver standout guest experiences every day.
Aspen Group is a successful and fast-growing ASX-listed property group. We have a growing national portfolio of properties, including the Black Dolphin, a historic and significant motel and holiday park designed by renowned Australian architect Robin Boyd.
Following extensive investment and refurbishment, the Black Dolphin will soon be reopening as one of Australia's leading retro coastal retreats.
This is a full-time, on-site role in Merimbula, with potential live-in accommodation for the right candidate.
The Role
As General Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations, driving operational excellence, community engagement, and guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of daily park operations
- Build and maintain strong relationships
- Identify and act on local events, tourism trends, and business development opportunities to drive occupancy and revenue
- Lead the recruitment, training, and development of your team
- Maximise revenue through yield management (with support of Revenue Manager), and control operating costs in line with the property budget
- Oversee front office administration, reservation systems, and customer service functions
- Respond to after-hours calls and operational issues as required
- Ensure all facilities, amenities, and grounds are maintained to the highest standards
- Be involved with planning and executing guest experiences
Skills & Attributes
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in hospitality (highly desirable)
- An energetic, "can-do" attitude with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Excellent customer service
- Strong organisational skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional presentation style
- Experience with RMS9+ or Newbook booking systems (highly desirable)
