About the role

Bajara Plant Hire Pty Ltd is seeking a Casual Diesel Trades Assistant to join our team in Brisbane, QLD 4000. In this role, you will provide essential support to our experienced diesel mechanics, assisting with a range of maintenance and repair tasks on our fleet of heavy machinery and equipment.

What you'll be doing

  • Assist diesel mechanics with the diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines, transmissions, and other heavy equipment components
  • Perform routine inspections, servicing, and cleaning of machinery and equipment
  • Source and order parts, tools, and other materials required for maintenance and repair work
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all work carried out
  • Ensure a safe and organised work environment by following all safety protocols and procedures
  • Provide general assistance to the workshop team as required

What we're looking for

  • Relevant trade qualification or experience in the automotive/diesel mechanics industry
  • Strong practical skills and ability to use a range of hand and power tools
  • Good problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new equipment and technologies
  • Current driver's licence and a reliable means of transportation
