About the Role

We are seeking professional, passionate, and reliable front of house staff to join our team at Matilda Bay Restaurant in Crawley. These are casual roles with flexible scheduling, perfect for individuals who thrive in a vibrant, high-end hospitality environment.

We are currently hiring for two positions:

  1. Restaurant Floor Staff
  2. Function & Event Floor Staff (Weddings + Corporate Events)

The high season runs from October to March, and we are looking for team members who can commit to staying through this period.


1. Restaurant Floor Staff (Bistro/Fine Dining)

We're looking for experienced floor staff who can hold their own section in a busy, high-end environment.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum 6 months' experience in a bistro or fine dining restaurant
  • Confident managing a section independently
  • Ability to organize and manage bookings
  • Strong knowledge of the food and drink menus
  • Ability to follow detailed sequence of service standards
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail
  • A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate

2. Function & Event Floor Staff (Corporate & Weddings)

Join our events team and help deliver seamless service during corporate functions, weddings, and special events.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum 6 months' experience working in events or large-scale functions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A professional and well-presented attitude
  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team under pressure
  • Reliability, flexibility, and a customer-focused mindset
  • A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate

What You'll Be Doing (Both Roles)
  • Providing outstanding customer service and a memorable guest experience
  • Taking accurate food and beverage orders and relaying them to the kitchen/bar
  • Serving food and drinks in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of service areas
  • Assisting with restaurant or event set-up and pack-down
  • Adhering to all health, safety, and licensing regulations
