NDIS Cleaner

Position Overview:

The NDIS Cleaner (Household Tasks Support Worker) is responsible for providing high-quality cleaning and domestic support services to NDIS participants. The role aims to assist individuals to maintain a safe, healthy, and hygienic home environment, promoting independence and wellbeing in line with their NDIS goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform general household cleaning tasks, including:
  • Vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, and dusting
  • Cleaning bathrooms, toilets, kitchens, and common areas
  • Changing bed linen and doing laundry
  • Washing dishes and tidying living spaces
  • Maintain a hygienic and organized environment that meets participant needs.
  • Follow infection control, safety, and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Respect participant privacy, dignity, and choice while working in their home.
  • Report any hazards, incidents, or concerns to the supervisor promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of support provided (daily notes, timesheets, etc.).
  • Use cleaning equipment and products safely and efficiently.
  • Work in line with NDIS Code of Conduct and organizational policies.

  • Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of boundaries and respect for client confidentiality.
  • Compassionate and supportive attitude toward people with disabilities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Experience in cleaning, domestic assistance, or support work (preferred).
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Police Check and Working with Children Check (if applicable).
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (preferred).
  • COVID-19 vaccination (as per government and provider requirements).
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transport (desirable).

Performance Indicators:

  • High standard of cleanliness and participant satisfaction.
  • Compliance with health, safety, and reporting requirements.
  • Positive feedback from participants and supervisors.
  • Timely completion of assigned tasks.
