Senior Advisor, Strategic Communications & Engagement

About the Role

As Senior Advisor Strategic, Communications and Engagement, you'll develop and deliver integrated communications plans for a range of high-profile projects.

You'll work collaboratively across the Premier's Department, The Cabinet Office and other government agencies, drawing on your stakeholder engagement skills and strong understanding of channels to deliver clear, effective communications from the heart of government.

You'll join our Strategic Communications and Engagement team within the Community Engagement branch in the Delivery and Engagement Group. This Branch plays a critical role in coordinating All-of-Government communications, delivering high-quality engagement with internal and external stakeholders, and supporting NSW Government initiatives that impact communities across the state.

We're Looking For

  • Strategic Communications Expertise: Demonstrated experience developing and implementing large-scale, multi-channel communication strategies for complex, high-stakes initiatives across government or comparable sectors
  • Project and Risk Management: Ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects with competing deadlines, while identifying and addressing risks, sensitivities and communication gaps early
  • Strong Written and Verbal Communication: Advanced writing, editing and content development skills with the ability to craft clear, persuasive, and targeted messaging tailored to different audiences and channels, including executive-level materials
  • Data and Insights Capability: Experience in using audience research, behavioural insights, or campaign data to inform strategy and measure the effectiveness of communications and engagement initiatives
