Job Description
The Role
We're on the hunt for a strategic and results-driven Head of Events to lead and elevate our roadshow event programs across the Pilbara's mine site villages and town sites.
This is a truly hands-on leadership role where you will be responsible for the entire event lifecycle — from the initial concept and contract negotiations, through logistics, onsite delivery, right through to pack up and post-event review. You'll manage a vibrant team and collaborate closely across Marketing, Health and Wellness, Food Platform, and Retail teams to make sure every event is a success both strategically and operationally.
What You'll Do
- Event Strategy & Planning: Craft a winning roadshow event portfolio and calendar, tapping into client insights, industry trends, and resident feedback to drive engagement and satisfaction.
- End-to-End Event Delivery: Take ownership of every stage — negotiating contracts, managing all logistics, ensuring smooth onsite execution, and overseeing pack up and teardown. You'll be in the thick of it, making sure every detail runs like clockwork.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and inspire your events crew and external vendors, creating processes for scalable and consistent event delivery.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work hand-in-hand with internal teams and external partners to align events with business goals and maintain strong relationships.
- Measurement & Optimisation: Track and analyse event success, gather feedback, and continuously refine your approach for even better outcomes.
- Budget Management: Keep a keen eye on budgets, balancing cost-efficiency with exceptional event standards.
Qualifications
- 5 years of solid event management experience, ideally with large-scale roadshows or managing multiple events simultaneously.
- Proven track record of delivering events that make a real business impact.
- Top-notch project management skills with the ability to juggle competing priorities and tight deadlines.
- Exceptional leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, dynamic environments with a flexible, can-do attitude.
- Willing and able to travel regularly as needed.
- Bonus: strong knowledge of catering, menu design, and standardisation of service.
Preferred Extras
- Experience running catering or food-related events with chefs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Skilled in Canva and other design platforms.
- Background in roadshow-style events, especially outdoor formats like Food Trucks or Markets.
- Outstanding relationship-building skills, comfortable engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
