The Role

ClearSky Allied Health is hiring multiple Occupational Therapists to support our NDIS and non-NDIS clients in Toowoomba. As part of an expanding team of allied health professionals, you will work with our highly diverse range of individuals and collaborate with like-minded colleagues, to deliver meaningful support services in a vibrant and welcoming environment that fosters growth and professional opportunities. Service provision will be a blend of out in community and in-clinic appointments based on the needs and goals of the client.

About the opportunity

An exciting, newly created role exists for a highly motivated an Occupational Therapist to join our team. This is a chance to be part of something exciting, to grow with our organisation, and to be a part of a collaborative, energetic, multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide evidence based, person centred assessment, clinical management, and intervention to people with a cognitive, physical, or psychosocial disability in line with NDIS goals.
  • Represent ClearSky and assigned NDIS and/or non-NDIS clientele planning and associated meetings in matters associated with Occupational Therapy.
  • Manage a caseload of NDIS participants in their natural settings who may present with increasing complexity, multiple co-morbidities, and functional limitations across multiple areas of their life.
  • Assess the need for modifications to home and other environments accessed by people with a developmental, intellectual, or physical disability.
  • Use occupation assessment checklist(s) and follow prescription requirements and processes when prescribing or recommending equipment.
  • Provide a range of intervention strategies to address needs that relate to, activities of daily living, functional performance, fine motor skills, motor planning, sensory processing, perceptual motor, handling, and sensory integration of behavioural competencies.
  • Assess the equipment needs of NDIS participants in relation to daily activities including sleeping, sitting, safe transport, and personal care.
  • Perform all other duties as required.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Hold a bachelor's degree (or higher) in Occupational Therapy.
  • Previous experience in Occupational Therapy.
  • Pre-existing registration with AHPRA.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact with clients, their families and service providers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of legislation.
  • Ability to work to productivity targets.
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment as well as autonomously and take ownership of a caseload of participants.
  • Hold a current WWCC (Blue Card), NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid & CPR.
  • Hold a valid Australian driver's license.
