Role Summary

We're seeking an experienced
Linux Technician
to support the development, deployment, and hardening of Linux systems within a secure Defence environment. You'll work across infrastructure and cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance, automation, and mission readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and maintain Linux OS within Defence ICT environments
  • Integrate software and implement security hardening practices
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux SOE/application issues
  • Automate system configurations and document SOPs
  • Evaluate new technologies for Defence ICT use

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience working as a Linux Technician within Defence projects
  • Proficient with Linux systems, particularly RHEL 7.x to 9.x, in hyper-converged and distributed environments
  • Demonstrated expertise with:
  • Ansible
  • GITLab
  • YUM
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical domains

Desirable Experience

  • Familiarity with SEA2273 Minerva systems
  • Deep understanding of the Australian Information Security Manual (ISM)
  • Experience implementing zero-trust architecture principles
  • Knowledge of ADF deployed environments and associated ICT/security constraints
