The Opportunity:

We are looking for an environmental professional to help lead our approvals business and drive business growth, manage key client relationships, and oversee the delivery of environmental projects across NSW. In this role, you will mentor and support a small team, contribute to project approvals, Environmental Impact Assessments, and mine closure planning, and help expand our environmental practice. This is a permanent, full-time role.

Position duties include, but are not limited to;

  • Sourcing and delivering work
  • Working with existing businesses within Talis and supporting their work
  • Maintaining existing client relationships and sourcing new ones
  • Growing and maintaining an environmental practice
  • Working with and reporting to the Leaders in other parts of the business

About you:

  • Extensive experience in dealing with project approvals, Environmental Impact Assessment, statutory advice, management plans and mine closure;
  • Excellent technical capacity;
  • Excellent understanding of the legal framework in NSW associated with mining and industry;
  • Experience working throughout the NSW (and other local States/Territories);
  • Excellent relationships with key Government stakeholders;
  • Expertise in coordinating/completing complex technical assessments, records and written reports;
  • Long-standing expertise in dealing with environmental and mining approvals as well as mine closure;
  • Credibility, a strong reputation and an excellent track record with Clients on a range of land development, industrial and mining projects;
  • Management experience with small consultancy teams;
  • High-level business development skills and hold strong existing client relationships;
  • Demonstrated experience in presenting at industry forums;
  • Experience in developing and implementing market/business development plans;
  • Permanent Australian residency; and
  • Experience onsite would also be considered favourably.
