Principal or Senior Civil Design Engineer

Your Role:

We are seeking a leader, not just a team member. You must be able to perform these functions autonomously and to the highest standard:

  • You must have a proven ability to bring in new work, manage client expectations, and build lasting relationships.
  • You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of design projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, on budget, and to scope.
  • You must be able to run a design project independently, without requiring micromanagement.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil design engineering is mandatory.
  • You must be able to speak, communicate, and write fluently in English, including high-level report writing.
  • You must be an Australian Citizen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all aspects of civil infrastructure design projects from concept to commissioning.
  • Prepare detailed design calculations, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Ensure all projects adhere to relevant Australian Standards and regulations.
  • Actively contribute to business development by identifying opportunities and nurturing client relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience in civil design engineering.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, OpenRoads Designer).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and local regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is highly desirable.
