SQL Database Administrator

Location: ACT

NV 2 clearance needed

Are you an experienced Database Administrator ready to lead critical data initiatives in a hybrid work environment? A key government agency is seeking a skilled DBA Lead to support their ongoing cloud migration and application modernisation efforts. You will be responsible for delivering high-performance database services across on-prem and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), while ensuring robust performance, security, and availability. This 12-month contract offers long-term potential with multiple extensions available.

Key Duties:

  • Install, configure, and maintain high-performance MS SQL databases
  • Manage performance tuning, backups, clustering, and disaster recovery
  • Oversee security, access controls, and certificate management
  • Support hybrid cloud environments including Azure and AWS

Key Criteria:

  • 7+ years in a senior DBA role, with deep Microsoft SQL Server experience
  • Proficiency with Always-On Availability Groups and Azure SQL
  • Strong T-SQL and PowerShell scripting skills for automation
  • Must hold an active NV2 security clearance
