ABOUT THE ROLE

You will support the planning, assessment and delivery of environmentally sustainable outcomes for a range of infrastructure, urban development and natural resource projects across Queensland; working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, stakeholders and government agencies to prepare and review environmental planning documents in compliance with local, state and federal legislation.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Lead environmental assessments that inform planning decisions and drive positive ecological impact.

  • Develop innovative strategies to balance development needs with environmental protection.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders—from government agencies to local communities to ensure compliance and foster trust.

  • Translate complex data into actionable insights that guide sustainable land use and resource management.

  • Champion best practices in environmental planning, ensuring projects meet regulatory standards and exceed expectations.

  • Monitor and report on environmental performance, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Expertise backed by qualifications in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science or a related discipline.

  • Hands-on experience (around 2–5 years) in environmental planning and assessment, delivering practical solutions.

  • Solid understanding of Queensland and Commonwealth environmental legislation and statutory processes.

  • Proven ability to prepare Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and other statutory planning documents with precision.

  • Exceptional communicator skilled in both written and verbal engagement, with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationships.

An added advantage would be industry exposure to infrastructure, mining, energy or major development projects e.
