About the role

TLC First Support Services is seeking passionate and caring Male Disability Support Workers to join our team in Ipswich, QLD. As a Casual Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering and supporting individuals living with disabilities to live independently and achieve their goals. This position offers flexible work arrangements to suit your lifestyle.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing personalised care and assistance to participants with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and meal preparation
  • Supporting participants to access the community and participate in recreational and social activities
  • Advocating for participants' rights and ensuring their needs are met
  • Developing and implementing individualised support plans in collaboration with participants and their families
  • Maintaining accurate records and documentation of participant progress and care
  • Promoting the safety and wellbeing of all participants

What we're looking for

  • A minimum of 1 years' experience working with either individuals living with disabilities, preferably in a community-based setting or supported independent living.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with participants
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a genuine desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others
  • The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • A current full or provisional driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Support Workers that have experience in Mental Health and with Complex Participants that have challenging behaviours.
  • Support Workers that have availability for active sleepovers and/or day shifts.
  • Support Workers with a Manual Handling certificate
  • Support Workers with a Medication Endorsed certificate
