We're seeking a Mowing Unit Operator to join a busy local government parks team maintaining lawns, verges, and reserves across the northern suburbs.

About the Role

You'll be part of a friendly, hands-on crew responsible for mowing, trimming, edging, and general parks maintenance.

Each day brings variety — working with quality turf equipment and ensuring public spaces are safe, clean, and beautifully presented.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate ride-on mowers, line trimmers, and blowers safely and efficiently
  • Complete scheduled mowing programs and general grounds maintenance
  • Report any servicing or repair needs for plant and equipment
  • Assist with under-pruning, clean-ups, and park presentation
  • Follow site safety, traffic management, and environmental procedures
  • Contribute to toolbox meetings and team planning discussions

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience operating mowing and small plant equipment
  • Strong safety focus and attention to detail
  • Good teamwork and communication skills
  • MR Driver's License and White Card (Construction Safety) – essential
  • National Police Clearance (within 3 months)
  • Certificate III in Horticulture or related field (desirable)
